BIO

Jonathan Goetzman
Jonathan is a writer/director/producer and a 2019 graduate of Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts where he received a BFA in Film Production and a Minor in Business Administration. He also spent a year in Cameron Watson's Acting Studio in Los Angeles. Being raised in an Israeli (Moroccan/Tunisian) and American household, Jonathan has always put a unique spiritual perspective on the world into his art. He has a drive and work ethic that stems from his love for the art of filmmaking both leading by example and aspiring to build a team of like-minded film professionals around him.

Goetzman's work is deeply shaped by personal themes, exploring family bonds, the preservation of memory through grief, and the journey to discover the light within. His aim is to uncover the most profound expressions of love that the human experience has to offer. His most recent short film won many awards across the globe and was a film that captured the spirit of the Jewish identity and the multigenerational trauma that comes with it.

Since graduating, Jonathan has been working on studio film productions for directors such as Joel Coen, Paul Thomas Anderson, David O’Russel, Steven Spielberg, Olivia Wilde, Chelsea Peretti, and The Russo Brothers. In 2025, Jonathan is constantly writing and is simultaneously working in pre-production on REPEAT THE TRACK, which he is directing as his first feature-length film. When he's not working on film, he pursues his love for theatre and specifically his theatre debut, SUNBREAK which had a 6-week run in Los Angeles in 2024 and a 3-show run in New York city for the NY Theater Festival in 2025. He strives to get his work published by Samuel French.
